Keys for your answers

This page recommends multiple key mappings that you can customise as per your liking. Some of them override default tmux bindings. If you think there are better alternatives for recommended keys happy to understand how.

All the keys are the ones that are in docs/tmux.conf.full.example bindings. The “Help says” is what you get on CLI with --help flag. You can use it with “companion: …” in your bindings for easy search.

What happened in each project: the commands that ran long, the questions the agents asked, the sessions opened and closed

Every line of every pane’s scrollback in every active session, newest first; enter goes to the pane and the line

The ports something is listening on and the pane that started each; enter jumps there

Rebuild a server from a snapshot; --merge: Add the sessions that are missing instead of refusing a busy server
prefix C-i Which sessions haven’t I touched in days? runs: sessions idle
Sessions nobody is attached to that have been quiet for days; picking one runs project close on it
prefix M-/ Is there a tmux key for that already? runs: keys --all

  • prefix /: describe a key (list-keys -1N)
  • prefix c: new-window
  • prefix ?: list-keys -N
  • prefix z: zoom (resize-pane -Z)
  • copy mode o: other-end of the selection
  • copy mode g: history-top, which the menu’s own g still does
